AI Policy – Reservation of Rights
AMRA is committed to protecting the rights of its members and ensuring that their work is respected in the digital landscape. Our global repertoire includes compositions, lyrics, and metadata created by songwriters and composers, represented by publishers. It is our duty to safeguard their intellectual property.
To that end, we expressly reserve all rights related to the use of our catalogue for text and data mining (TDM), including applications involving machine learning, algorithmic processing, and other artificial intelligence systems. This reservation applies to all forms of automated analysis or data use, including but not limited to:
Training generative AI models,
Scraping, indexing, or parsing our metadata or works,
Pattern extraction from lyrics, compositions, or recordings, and
Replication or synthesis of musical content using AI.
The above is asserted in accordance with applicable law, including Article 4(3) of the European Union’s DSM Directive, and reflects our ongoing efforts to ensure that AI development is fair, transparent, and beneficial to the creative community.
We support responsible innovation, but copyright must be respected. No TDM activity—whether in full, in part, or via derived data—is permitted without a valid, written license from AMRA.
